Removing Medications

Recently I've had no choice but to medicate my main tank, at first with triple sulfa, and later on with broad spectrum medication containing Mafenide hcl, Aminacrine hcl, and Malachite Green.

How can I remove these medications from the tank? I've heard activated carbon and of course water changes would work, but will they disipate over time? Some of the bottles of the medication meantion that you can continue treatment after a small water change per week, which in my mind suggests they evaporate out of the water or something, which I know happens with some substances, but not others like salt for example.

It's been over a week since I used any of the medications, can they of evaporated out of the water in that time?

Carbon sponge is your best and safest bet, some meds will partially evaporate over time but not all, personally i would just add some carbon sponge to your filter and all the meds will definatly be out in a couple of days;

I usually do a partial water change first, just to speed the removal up. Then add in an activated carbon filter to remove the rest. Make sure this is a new one as carbon looses its effectiveness after 4-6 weeks
