I have just been offered a Juwel 30" Aquarium free it is still setup and running but the fish where rehomed on Sunday. When i bring it over here what is going to be the quickest way to get this tank up and running?
This tank has been well cared for for the last 3 yrs.Transporting the water isnt an option so its going to be fresh water but the filter will be cycled .
Any advice will be great

Keep the filter in a bucket full of tank water to keep the bacteria alive inside also if possible bag the gravel up but keep it wet. I don't think bacteria can survive for a long time so doing this within an hour is probably the best timescale.

Thanks for that
well the tank is only 20 mins from and i will be filling it straightaway when i get it here.So how long would you suggest running it before slowly stocking it

Hi,

I would keep the filter in a bag, fill the tank once its the right temp add the filter and some fish, you'll have to add quite a few fish or the bacteria will die off.

Emma :)
