Hey Guys

I'm getting more and more tempted to go for one of the red sea max nano kits and just wandered if anyone had any experience with them?
We have one as a display tank at the LFS where I work but just wandered if anyone else has one and what do they think?

Cheers girls! :good:

If you can post a link to the tank specs, I might be able to make some comments or give some thoughts. SH

TIM, if you decided to go ahead and get one it may be an idea to find a supplier in Europe. Im sure you could get it a bit cheaper.

bit pricey for my liking, worked it out by the time you'd added a couple more powerheads, your LR and a bit of lifestock your looking at a grand. can set up a tank yourself for much less than that. although that being said as you work in an lf and i'm sure can get discounts it may be more manageable for you. they're certainly nice neat little set ups.

only thing i'd say not to use is the test kit holder above the tank, bad place to do your tests. I speak from the experience of knocking over a nitrate test into my FW tank, I spent a lot of time that day doing water changes  take your sample of water and go sit away from the tank to test it! :good:

My take on this:
1) Inadequate lighting for SPS, but, OK for LPS and softies
2) No room for a refugium
3) Circulation volume is on the low side of OK (10X)

Overall, it is probably not too bad, but, I agree...I still recommend that the best setup is YOUR OWN with a 20 long.

We've had one as a display tank at work since October and it's looking really good (I will get photos).
The lighting does seem ok when it comes to soft corals but I have to agree with you that there isn't enough flow. We've added an extra powerhead in our one at work! I'll try get soon piccys.

The tank is very close to my 24G ....so, it could use some DIY's. I'm sure it would be an 'adequate' tank. SH
