Are these shrimp easy to get anywhere. Ive found them in stock only once and I bought 3, but want 3 more. There so awesome. Is there anywhere online that sells them. All my LFS seem to no longer carry them. At $5 a price, they might be worth getting to breed.

Thanks

You have failed at trying to help. Google does not bring up any results for where I can buy some online. Only a few sites with some information, but nothign about where to buy them. I was hoping someone might know a special place online that might sell them. Thanks

I think you need to look again I can't do a direct link as its another forum but it clearly says "FS red claw shrimp". Strangely its the 3rd result now not the 6th google must of updated their statistics.

i got one by accident from an lfs with a load of amano's.

would love to know if he will eat baby shrimp?

Anything with big claws is generally not friendly ;). They will eat micro shrimp and small fish however I think amano's may be too large for them to outright eat but they are opportunistic so if they find one moulting then it will kill it. They are brilliant shrimp though if I had a spare 10 gallon I would definitely get a pair if nothing else it is said they eat out of your hand and will clean your hands.

hes only tiny now, proably smaller than my amanos. hes in a tank with fish and 2 plecs. but doesnt bother the nerites or apple snails. however i found an empty pest snail shell, could he be picking them out of the shell and eating them?

Yes they are omnivores and will eat anything and everything, picking snails out of their shells is common even with MTS has been known which have a hard door on their shell opening when retracted. As it is so young you may be fortunate and it will no attack your amano's or fish (they are known to nip their fins when the fish are sleeping) as it will be use to their presence but keep an eye open.
