Really nano microfish

Fish don't get more nano than recently hatched ones. Here are three I just took photos of (baby pictures, awwww) in the fishroom.

First up, MIcroctenopoma congicum, a couple of weeks old.

Second - Pristella maxillariis tetras, under 3 weeks and growing well.

Finally, a couple of days old Royal Farlowella, Sturisomatichthys aureum.

Okay, they won't stay small forever, but for now, they are very micro.

Very cool! Yeah, they are sort of like kittens. Adorable when little and then grow into wonderful friends.

I enjoy watching their shapes. The Microctenopoma began as little round dots, the Pristella tetras were slivers, now developing rounder bodies, and the Sturisoma developed in large transparent eggs, coming out as miniature copies of their complicated looking parents.

I love little tiny baby fish . Fry are the most amazing part of this great hobby . Looking at them and seeing that they have little gills and eyes and so on and were born right in your own house still fascinates me ever since I saw my first guppy fry nearly sixty years ago.

I find this cool. It's a few days after the first photos, and the Pristella maxillaris are a bit over 3 weeks. Once you get past the brine shrimp pot bellies, look at how the dorsal already signals it's a Pristella. That's cute, but earlier than I expected.
