Hi,

Well apart from my Pshyco Molly my tank seems ready to add new some tank mates .. (testing for Amonia, Nitrite and Nitrate and the first two are 0 :D and Nitrate is in the safe zone :p ).

I'd like to add the folowing to the tank..

6 Danios (zebra or pearl)
6 Tetra's (neon or another)
2-3 Ottos' for company for my survivor
and 3 Kribs or Keyhole Cichlids

I believe this should not be overstocked.

If still room .. My wife has taken a shine to Balloon Mollies so may 2 or 3 of them as well ?

My question is in what order should I add these fish ? I want to add fish once every two weeks .. I know tetra's like tanks to be well estblished so I can wait, but what about the others ? I've killed far too many fish and want to get it right this time ..

Paul trying to avoid fish genocide. :*)

I'd say danios first, then the kribs/ keyhole cichlids, followed by tetras and ending with otos. If it is 20 gallons, then i think it is already slightly overstocked.

P.T.

Can't remember the exact figure but the colour matched the lowest box on the test chart. Wasn't clear like the others. (will look at the chart tonight as the book said acceptable ..) I have live plants in the tank so I believe I will always get some sort of reading.. in the past my Nitrate was near the top of the chart .. as was Nitrite and prior to that Amonia .. :S

Any suggestions out there for a showpiece fish for my community if I disregard Kribs or Keyholes :byebye: dwarf Gouramis :dunno: ??

I will add Danios this weekend .. then wait at least another two weeks before adding anything else.

Well after carefull consideration I'm not getting any Cichlids or Gouramis.
Because the good lady has said lets get a bigger tank .. and I can stick it in the front room :D

So In a month or two I'll be able to look at Cichlids and Gouramis.

After work I'm off to get some zebra's and a friend for psycho .. seen a lovely Orange Molly.

Got my new fish .. everybody looks happy .. Psycho seems a bit lost the Danios are running rings around her

Spot my new Molly has spotted his reflection in the glass and raises his big Sailfin a lot.

Now all I have to do is keep them alive :-(

Paul

Congrats and good luck with your new family members!

I see you're also planning on adding a couple more otos in a few weeks. Looks like good planning!

Paul, you're doing ok - there's no reason that the new fish should die coz your tank is cycled and you're doing the sensible thing - adding the fish slowly. Congrats and keep us posted.
