Ray Tank!

i can guarantee you if you get a banjar red you will be disappointed with it and sell in less than a year its no better than a Asian green it just has a fancy name to help sell it

Asian green £100

if you want value for money buy a red tail gold you can get the for less than £350 and you will be happy for life unless you go for the high end cross backs or red with a min price of £1100

i have a chili red 19 inch and a cross back gold in my tank which are a pair from my group of 9 Asian aros 2 x chili reds and 7 x blue base cross backs

i have had a passion for Asian arowana for near 20 years so i think i know what I'm talking about

i wasn't desputing your experience or 'passion', nor am i disputing wether or not you know what your tanking about. i believe the problem lies with you not knowing what im talking about.
i am not out to buy the brightest, most expensive arowana, i like them as a fish, i don't like the cross backs anymore than the green, what i am saying is i will set myself a price when the time comes and buy the best one i can.

well i advice you to save the extra £50 on top of the crap banjar price to buy the red tail gold

aros have a grace about them that you get when the light catches them which you will get with the red tail gold

the banjar red is a dull fish with no shine at all

banjar red are a marketing ploy for people who are new to aros who think they are getting a great fish because it has red in its name

if you want a entry level asian aro go for a green £100 the problems with greens and banjar reds is they are more aggressive than other Asian aros they are not much better than jardini when aggression is concerned

then forget banjar they are crap

next level is red tail gold great value for money at £350 max

then come the more expensive super, blood chili reds and cross back golds which have a entry level of £1100 for a small fish

if you look around you can pick up sub adults for a good price i sold 3 x blue base cross backs at £600 each and a chili red for £600

Asian aros are expensive so you don't want to have to keep buying and selling just because you are not happy with how the fish is turning out

if your going to have a 2 foot aro swimming in your tank you want it with a bit of shine which banjars don't have and red tail golds do

so where are the rtg for £350 all the ones i can find are quite a lot more than that!
is it on the net or just someone you know?

Dave
