LUK ITS A FUZBALL
I just have to rant, hope I don't get this closed. But here goes.
About six weeks ago, my brother got a kitten (petshop owner found it, asked to give it to the animal shelter, they couldn't take it for another day, she got p*ssed and someone took them off their hands, gave one kitten to somebody and another to my sister-in-law (well my brother's fiancee) who decided to keep it. So that kitten is stuck with a rather annoying 5 year old (but then again I hate all children so...) who, likes to do terribly violent things to cats. Anyway the apartment manager let them keep it, yada yada. He's decided she's going to be indoor and not going to get shots, wtf? Is it even legal to not have rabies shots? He might even have been debating not having her spayed. Her litter box was a plastic cooking pot, she slept in the bathtub... and then he needed us to babysit her, when she was 6 - 7 weeks old. When he drops her off, "She has a sneezing problem. Bye!" So we're stuck with a cat that has a cold. And to say the least, we have FIVE FOSTER CATS! and the animal shelter will not be happy to pay for medicine for five sneezing cats. We take her to the vet (and my brother was thankfully grateful, he d*** better be, it would have costed him 50 - 75 dollars more because the vet gave us a discount because we volunteered at the shelter.) and got her medicine, locked her in my brothers room and no germs were exchanged. Thankfully, the cats were OK.
So now my nephew is diagnosed with ADD and asbergers and got pulled out of preschool into therapy. OK, brother decides he does not want the cat, "cannot handle the stress" (i have four kittens running around... all the time... stress? i'm sure.) and it "tears up everything" (um... it's a kitten.) So the animal shelter charges to take the pet off your hands, chances are he's going to sell it (yes sell it, I'm sure he'd just love to reap the money ) to some random person who doesn't spay their animal. Honestly, really. I do feel sorry for this kitten, and the many, many babies she will soon produce. (i'll bet money when she gets adopted out within 5 months she'll be a mother of 3 and deathly ill)
