I live in an upstairs flat that gets very hot in the summer months, last year it hit 37C. But now I have an aquarium, those kind of temps would spell trouble. With that in mind, first I installed 4 cooling fans which are activated automatically via my Inkbird temperature controller and they definitely help, but they wouldn't cope with temps of 30C+.

So, I have bit the bullet and purchased an Igenix IG9901 wifi 9,000 BTU portable aircon unit. Not only will it stop my tank from overheating in the summer, but it will keep me nice and cool too. It's a win win as far as I'm concerned. It's also Alexa enabled, so I can control it with my voice just because I'm old and lazy lol.

The aircon unit arrived yesterday(17/04/20) and after leaving it to settle for 12 hours as per the instructions, I decided to test it. My living room was at 22.8C, so I set the aircon to 18C and fired it up. It did a sterling job and dropped the temp to 18C in less than 10 mins. Happy days!

My budger would try and land on one of my dogs, it would spoke him but he didn't mind when she walked up to him while he was laying down. My last one we had our lab was young and he would jump in the air and try and catch him but would just sniff when my budger was on my should. I had some pictures of my budger on my finger and the dog sniffing him.
