Ooooo fun!!! I don't have a homeschool group, and I plan to homeschool all through highschool, so I will probably never go to prom. I don't think I would like it anyway, it sounds terrifying... so many people...

That sounds exhausting  I have cousins who stay up til 3 am then wake up at 7 for school. I do not know how they do it... I go to bed at 10 and still have a hard time waking up in the morning!
Nah, it’s not that bad. I hung out with my friends the majority of the time. Also danced with a few girls...

I am exhausted. I worked 4 days in a row at my job (factory work) and then went to the prom last night.

I am still crazy sore, but I’m powering through it!

You're so lucky! I didn't get a prom lol, would have been mid June last year... When Covid was the biggest thing ever, haha.
Well... last year it was postponed for a long while, but this year it was on time.

My homeschool group is called “CHIL” (Christian Homeschoolers In Lawrenceburg). So CHIL didn’t go this year, due to COVID. The teachers refused to wear masks, so none of the kids could go. It’s really stupid IMO, because they wear masks when they go out in public anyway. ?

Branching off of that, I'm not willing to go back 155 pages to see if this was already spoken about, but what instruments do the people here play? I have a keyboard and accordion, both of which I'm stuck at a beginner's level on because I don't have the rhythm or co-ordination to play with both hands.
I play euphonium, penny whistle, guitar, and bodhran reasonably well. I can piano and most band/orchestra instruments badly.

I have never danced with a guy before. I would be so nervous. I am so awkward, my sisters say I will never get married someday because I am too afraid to even talk to my brothers friends

I bet! Oh man! I can't even imagine

That is so frustratingo_O My family wears masks everywhere. We even used to wear masks to visit our cousins, cause my aunt was pregnant, but then they got covid from people at their church anyways so now their house is the only place we don't wear masks? My brother got invited to his school's "Junior Senior Banquet" and the girl's parents just bought them some nice masks to wear, so they still looked nice for the event:lol:

Well, I was determined that I was not going to dance with anyone, but I was encouraged by my friends, and I finally went for it!

It’s totally normal to be nervous, trust me. Guys think girls aren’t nervous and girls think guys aren’t nervous, but they are both wrong. ;)

Ahahaha. My brother's school does a "Junior Senior Banquet" instead of prom, because they don't want the students dancing together (it was kinda weird). I think my brother was very relieved he didn't have to dance

I never thought about that! I get anxious about anything social. I recently realized I have to live on my own someday, and have decided to try to start getting more comfortable doing things independently, so you know, I started raising rabbits, I am getting my driving permit, I decided to go to a christian summer camp 16 hours away from home without my sister (my sister and I do everything together, but she didn't want to go), and I am managing a koi pond for my parents, and yes, I am absolutely terrified about it all?

Usually adults don’t want kids our age dancing, because it can get out of hand. My prom had lots of adult supervision, so everything was chill.

Yup! I am also sort of antisocial, but I’m starting to come out of my shell, and make new friends.

I hate it, knowing that we will have to move in less than a year. All the hard work I’ve put into getting friends for 2 years goes down the drain. :(

It’s good you are starting to get more independent. I know lots of kids that are still really attached to their parents (which is great, don’t get me wrong, but around our age it’s time we start doing stuff for ourselves) and they are socially awkward.

I definitely understand the concerns and them wanting it to be safe for everyone.

Oh no! You are moving? Where to? That must be so awful! I moved from New York to Virginia when I was younger, I remember how hard it was to leave my cousin behind, I am really sorry :-( Where did you live before?

Yes I know what you mean! My family is really close and I love it, but I am definitely looking forward to moving out and having my own house someday and getting married and traveling and making my own decisions

I’m moving to Pensilvania at the end of this year. I’ve moved a total of 6 times since I’ve been alive, so I’m pretty used to the routine. I was just hoping that this move would be permanent... :(

Wow! What do your parents do that you move so much? I am sorry:( I cannot even imagine. I have only moved 3 times. Where all have you lived? I have lived in Ohio, New York, and Virginia. How will you move all your fish?

Well, my dads job (as a pilot) makes us move a lot. Better opportunities I guess.

I was born in Kansas, then it went in this order: Missouri-Kansas-Florida-Kansas-Louisiana-Kentucky (soon to be PA)

I might have to end up selling most of my schooling fish. It’s a 2 day drive up there and that would be tons of stress on them. I haven't fully decided though.

What has been your favorite place so far?
Definitely Kentucky. It’s just so amazing up here and the people are (generally) friendly.
