I have my pet critter set up with decholrinated water and today introduced some ramshorns which were kindly donated to me :)

I have the tank on my windowseal in the kitchen that gets morning light. Have put some aquatic plant ends in with some lettuce. What other things do I need to consider? How often to do water changes and best foods to feed on?

Many thanks for any help :)

ohhhh... they are about a centimetre maybe up to one and a half in size? terribly sorry not sure, they are the larger of snails that i have seen, about the same size of apple snail seen at the store.

fired up the camera:

They will be giants then, don't really need preferential treatment, good clean water (change every day and you won't need filtration or build a little bubble filter) and they will eat virtually anything courgette is packed with more nutrition the cucumber and is soft so that would be a good addition.

thanks saltynay! I currently have cucumber, pepper and lettuce (they seem to be loving the lettuce) will order some courgette on our weekly shop in couple of days, good to blanch or just chop and go? (p.s. havent added cucumber or pepper as of yet)

Many many thanks :D

I always blanch softens them a bit aswell as killing any bacteria. Wash if you want I generally don't bother but its a risk.

I have a good rinse before adding, cucumber and courgettes will probably soften and wash a little for them. Fingers crossed these breed for me! Thanks again :good:

hello Betta Boy - yep for my four dwarf puffs and in readiness for my green spotted puff in September :good:

The green spotted puff will be freshwater from the store to start with and will slowly raise salinity over the coming months aiming for high brackish/marine setup for his adult years :) It is going to be a learning curve for me

Hey :) Just like to clarify, these are just normal red ramshorns and not giant ones. They will grow a little more but not too much.

thanks isnail! my saviour

thanks for all the support everyone, fingers crossed they like me and start to breed :)

 There wasn't pics before I was merely going by size normally red ramshorns get decimated before getting to that size my bad.
