Ok, so your tank is essentially the same tank as mine with slightly less height which makes no difference to the fishes.
About that device, what is the advantage of using them? It appears to be yet another version of typical gravel vac but allows easier start (which isn't really hard to begin with). You mention you don't have to add water anymore - does it claim you don't need to do water change any more???
