hia, just bought 20kg of live rock for £80.... i need it :D

anyway when i go to collect what am i looking for? 1 bit does have hair algae so should i leave it behind??
any advice would be fab

Take it all shelagh..placed a piece into nano last week covered in it and it's now as bald as an infants posterior....hermits and damsel soon seen to that..
Try to keep it wet in transport but to avoid die off and a mini cycle in your tank

£80! You jammy #29###!

Yeah definitely don't leave it behind. Your CUC will really enjoy it. As buddy says, keep the rock wet to avoid die back. If you can, get a plastic container with some saltwater in it and put the rock into it. Failing that, some heavy duty plastic sacks that will help to hold the moisture in.

oh wow brill thankyou :)

he says he has a poly box to transport it, and i can take some water.. ooh now im even more pleased,

shelagh x x x

Wow, it looks pritty good actually. Im not sure if it will affect your water having that much, but someone will let you know. Bae has his like this but im not sure if his is real live rock. If not you could sell some on :good:

didnt have time to stand and sort thru it and "arrange" it as i had to get the kids from school, so its in all safe and squashed in.. theres a lot behind what you can see to

Looks way too overcrowded. Think you should take 10kg and send it me FOC :p

Keep an eye out for nitrates as too much rock will increase these due to extra filtration...I know , cos mine does,lol.....regular small water changes will keep these under control but

yeah thats what i thought...ill test daily till they settle in- however long that is

AK- your not wrong.. theres no room for the fish poor things. its just that i dont have another setup suitable to stick some in maybe when its all settled ill disturb it again and go for a more thought out rescape and see what im left with.. honestly i was really impressed with the amount.. i walked into his longue and thought " surley it cant be all that"

talking about too much rock.. will this amount .. 45kg- cause me any long term problems??
