Hi everyone. I live in Somerset in the UK and I've been keeping fish since I was about 10. I'm now obsessed with Catfish, mostly Cory's and Whiptails, but I also have a discus tank and a Betta tank. I've kept over 20 different Cory's now and bred a fair few as well. I noticed the catfish area was busy so I'll have a bit of a look around and get involved. I'll add some pictures over the weekend.

At the moment I have Sterbai, Similis, Weitzmani, CW010 and CW023. This is my full list, I sold a load a few years back as I was unwell:

Fantastic!! Maybe you could help me out sometime soon! I've been wanting the black strain of c. schultzei but I'm worried about crossbreeding lol.

If you have species in large enough numbers of their own kind it's unlikely. The black Schultzei strain will of course be more at risk from any Aeneus types. Different lineages won't cross, I think there are 9 lineages at the moment, I couldn't name each fish in each though ?

I was thinking about getting 12 maybe... They're a little pricey so I'm hoping to save up once I've got a job. Would you say more would be better or is that fine?

That's a good number. They're not difficult to breed if you have soft water.

£112* for 12! It'll definitely be my biggest spend but I'm really desperate for them so here we go lol. Thanks for the help!

I've also got some longfin c. aeneus in my quarantine tank right now! Excited to get them in my big tank.

Edit* Actually £108 for 12. Still a lot though.

Down in Kent. My LFS has astronomical prices for special fish really though.

Cory's4U sell them for £5 a go. Would be cheaper even with postage! I guess that's a Maidenhead Aquatics?
