Questions About Testing Your Tap Water

Some do, some don't. Ones labeled as just 'dechlorinator' are often exactly that and only remove chlorine, I'm just wanting to be clear :)

True true - I forget that there are so many rubbish products on the market. I always take dechlor to mean Prime ;)

I will only be using Prime from now on. It had been so long since I had a new tank, and the 37 has been showing great readings since shortly after we moved into the house last June, that I forgot about it and just bought the first thing I saw at PetSmart. I don't think they carried Prime until recently, because now that this discussion has occurred, I remember I had to go looking for it a few years ago.

Rhindon, doesn't have to be Prime - just get any brand that removes BOTH chlorine and ammonia and you'll be good to go.

Katch, I know what you mean, there's soo many brands and products. I'm glad I don't have chloramines so any old dechlorinator works for me.

I need to find a good LFS nearby for stock and advice (in addition to you all) and forget about PetSmart. How do you know a good LFS when you find it?

Tell them you have a 75L tank and ask how many clown loaches you can keep. If they say a number greater than ZERO; move on.
