Questions About Breeding Dogs

no disprespect to you at all miss w, cos obviously it's not you making the mistakes, but i'd be tempted to advise them to look elsewhere for their research into breeding if that's the information they're finding - as the source of that advice is obviously ill-educated on the facts of breeding and it's best if they find better sources. god knows what else they've been told by whoever fed them that. breeding is a really big deal as i know you know, so they could do with maybe speaking to a vet and making sure any dogs they breed from are health tested for inherited conditions first, and are impeccable examples of their breed, illustrated by maybe show results and obedience training as well as impeccable health and temperament. :good:

i agree with you Kathy, not seen them in a while so not sure where they are with breeding, i'll have a word with them when I next see them though. however I know they're female has been for a series of tests and the vets have confirmed she's in good condition for breeding and the male they are using is KC registered and a proven breeder with a good history for shows etc and from a strong family so I've no concerns in terms of the health of the dogs. :good:

One of our girls has had 2 litters when she was younger and then we retired her from breeding. She gave birth to both litters at exactly 8 weeks into pregnancy
the first time i freaked as we where out and she was on the back seat of the car  all 4 pups where healthy the second time we where at home and although a bit shocked that it was happening again at 8 weeks we didnt worry to much and again she had 3 healthy pups.
the longest any of ours has gone over is 4 days over the due date and everything went well
