I am currently using coppersafe to treat my 120g for ich and I am wondering what the resulting issues with this will be. I also have a 10g that has undergone 'copper treatment' because of pennies being in the substrate.. :/

I have heard that copper will leech into the aquarium sealant and re-release, so even if I clear the copper out (with activated carbon?) I would still have it in my water for a long time/permanently? I am interested in keeping inverts in both of these tanks so I need to know how I can make them safe again for this purpose.

Copper, once placed in a tank will never leave. It will bond like you said and slowly release itself over time. Hardy inverts are usually fine but like you said the tank is never invert safe again.

I have ordered a product called 'CUPRASORB' (i believe thats the name) that claims to absorb copper out of water. It sounds like this wll work for me, I suppose we will see!
