When adding Prime to a tank to detoxify chlorinated tap water on water changes... Do you have to remove the carbon filter?
THANX

You don not NEED to have a carbon filter in your tank if everything is ok.

Carbon is basically used for removing medications from your tank water after any treatments to your stockings.

So, I would just take the carbon out, and save it for when you do need it.

Don't think carbon media would remove prime since you add prime to the bucket of water before adding to the tank (thats if you using buckets!)

If using python type method, dosing the full tank's volume will dechlorinate the tap water pretty much instantly as the water being added to tank, so do not think a carbon filter will have much effect on Prime or any other dechlorinator really IMO.
