hi hun the best way 2 do it is catch him/her and put in a container with a sheet of white paper underneath ths will make a much easer photo i try an ID

Okay thanks for that, took me a while to catch her / him as decorations in the way, made sure I took a few while she / he was out so that I would not need to catch her / him again.

I presume she may still grow a bit then, you would not say she was stunted or anything would you

Already ordered, may take a while, apparently at the place that maidenhead get them from there is a minumum order amount for delivery, so I need to wait until they have enough orders or the shop needs new stock (they do stock many different and very beautiful plecs there), although this could be any time now. Apparently the place also quarantines them for 6 months aswell so they will let me know what day the delivery is coming in and I can bring him straight home to save on double quarantining.

I have ordered one at 3-4"

just out of curisoty how much is it ur paying for this male ur getting?

Do you know what , I did not even ask, I had been trying to find one for 3 months and nowhere had them, last time they stocked them, they were £29.95. To be honest I am not really that bothered, I just wanted a good quality specimen to go with her to try and breed them. I paid the same at tropical fish 4 you when I bought her and I saw them at maidenhead at that price last year. The other similar plecs are all reasonably priced so I am not too worried. They have also given me quite a few discounts cause I have spent a few hundred pounds on various bits in there since August last yr and they lent me a fish box for when I swapped my tank over and gave me bags. This is my last chance on freshwater as eventually it will swap to FOWLR once we have bought all the equipment and saved for the live rock (other halfs proviso on my new tank). It will definately take a a long time to get everything though the live rock works out at £350 for the minimum amount required for filtration, and ideally I would like alot more. We have not yet bought anything so I would say I have at least 3 or 4 yrs due to work needed on the house and lfs has said I can swap fish I have for marines later on.

Anyway I really love plecs and really wanted to try breeding before I say goodbye to freshwater.

My LFS had plenty of them last yr when a plec enthusiast ran the place , I didn;t get one despite his attempts to convince me. I wish I had now!!!
