Any one got a link to an online storte that sells them. That would ship to Aus? They sound Very useful! I spose a long line of tubing would do, but a link would be great!

Just a little info on them. If you can find a place that sells the attachment that goes on your faucet to fill a waterbed, it is exactly the same thing as a python. Basically, all you need to make one is the faucet attachment, a regular garden hose (just probably won't be able to find the clear on like the pythons have) and you probably will need a close off valve for the end so you can stop the water when it finishes filling, giving you time to get to the sink and turn the water off. You may also want to work on attaching a gravel vacuum to the end so you can vacuum while you are draining. Personally, since I'm on city water and have to pay for it, I vacuum and drain my tanks the old fashion way, by syphoning and just use the python to fill them.

Awsome, thanx guys. I looked in at my harware and they had some huge long lengths ideal for the purpose im after. Does anyone know wheter the plastic there made out of would be toxic?

I wouldn't think so. I have drunk from water hoses before and when I worked construction, they used to fill the water barrels from the hose so I don't think it would be a problem. I think quite a few people make their own "pythons" using regular garden hoses.

Yea just make sure the hose is "pottable" or "suitable for drinking purposes". That clear plastic they sell in hardware stores should be fine....I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be....many people use this for attachments/filters for their kitchen sinks, etc.

If you are willing to buy one the python is really worth it. They're pretty durable. I've been using mine at least once a week for years and its still as good as new. I did have to buy one of their brass adapters to go on a sink once but that was it.

Good luck!

David

Thanks guys. I should be down that harwares way in the next fortnight. Its pretty cheap too. I just want to lead it out the window, cause my tanks right there, and so is the garden! So ill need a few good metres but ill give it a shot instead of ordering a python. That idea can wait. If this odnt work, ill buy one! :p
