Pygmy Chameleons

everyone i know keeps them in plastic tanks like the playpal things with the vented lids.loads used to say that you couldnt meep bigger chams in glass tanks as the reflection stresses them but loads of the breeders are now using the exo terras

I got these from near washington but i do have another friend in Cumbria who keeps and breeds these
I have to agree chams are not for beginers although these are quite a tough species for their size

but seeing as i have panthers and yemens i think i am experianced in chams

I hate them mesh reptariums with a vengance and will never use one for any of my chams. They are horrendous for keeping humidity up

here is some info on keeping pygmy chameleons:

they are not kids pets. they are not for beginners either. they have specific requirements and are fragile creatures.

or you could go with the one the breeder of these use and as you see this one says spot lights are a no no unlike the other one suggests them

i wasnt trying to say anyone was not experience with chams, just saying that they arent for beginners. i have never used reptariums but have heard they were good for chams....guess not. i can see how they would be hard to keep humidity in.

i just looked up cham care on a search engine, sorry if some of the links dont have completely good info....its hard to find good info anymore.

I wasnt having a go or anything mate sorry if i came over that way.
I admit chams are not an easy species and i would never advise anyone to rush out and buy a cham as a first reptile but they are not as hard as some people make them out to be
If you have kept reptiles and you have the comitment, understand the heating and humidity needs for the species i cant see why anyone cant have a chameleon
I would always advise to speak to breeders rather than do a search for caresheets as some of the caresheets out there are totaly C**p.
The breeders will point you in the right direction
also i advise buying from breeders rather than petshops and make sure you are buying CB and not WC even i would not have a WC chameleon they are for the very very experianced cham keepers as they can come with all sorts of problems
After all everyone was a beginer in chams at some point even the big experianced breeders

I agree with you 100%. As long as the people make sure they know what they are getting into and can commit the time and effort needed then they should get a cham, same with any animal. Going to a breeder for info and for the animal is a great idea too, you know you are getting good info and a good animal then.

Oh my goodness ! :hyper: that is just uber cuteness galore :shout:

Cuuuuuuuuuuuute! :hyper:

I bet you want one now, huh? :p What would the garter snake say? I bet he'd be extremely jealous.

They are cute, and if I considered keeping reptiles, they would rank high on my list, but seeing as I have enough wild reptiles roaming about my backyard, it's not really necessary for me to keep one in the house, though sometimes they manage to take up residence.

They are cute, Grahamsokel, very cute and I'm glad they're doing well.
