The Purple Emperor Tetra's are on my "must have" list. I was told they are hard fish to keep. (They die easy etc) I did read up on them here Purple Emperor Tetra

The care level is Moderate. I meet the tank conditions. Anyone have major issues with fish lose? Tips and any info will help much ;) I saw them at my lfs today, and I can't WAIT to have 6+ soon. (lfs only had 2 :/ )

Just a few things I gleaned from the internet about Impaichthys kerri:

AKA: Blue Emporer Tetra, King Tetra, Kerry/Kerri Tetra

These fish are often mistaken for the more aggressive Emperor Tetra.

Unlike the Emporer Tetra, they are schooling fish (at least 5, preferrable more) and are peaceful.

They prefer a established, planted tank. Avoid large or boisterous tankmates.

They are "fairly delicate", meaning don't put them in right away and keep the parameters balanced once you do.

Water quality: pH acid to neutral, soft to slightly hard water

Temperature: 24 to 28°C

Hope this helps!

This is good!

I've been looking for info on this...
Right now im thinking of making a predominantly tetra tank with lots of color.

Im thinking
Flame,
Lemon,
Black Phantom,
and Blue Emperor (or Purp) Tetras

Are there other blue, green, or purple tetras?

I've got flame tetras, they're very bright and pretty. I've got harlequin rasboras in with them...if you're not set on tetras only, they would make a great colorful addition. Look up Celestial Pearl Danios, also very colorful and interesting. If I had more room, I'd totally get some.

cool
ill see
thx

I have heard they are somewhat more difficult to keep than neon tetras...

I don't have any specific info though...

From personal experience, I'd say that the emperors are easier to keep than neons long term. I always find that neons need a more mature aquarium to work in the long run.

Like anything though, people have different experiences.
