Public Appolegy

HooDude,

Since you quoted me, I will take the opportunity to reply....................

isn't it funny how you guys say 'honest opinion' and 'free speech' when something someone says is in your favor? But If I post my 'honest opinion' with my right to 'free speech' you guys use your right to 'free speech' to diss my 'honest opinion'.
IMO no one was attempting to take away your right to voice your opinion on the subject matter....which I believe was keeping betta's in cups....................heck I didn't even post my usual reply to betta's in cups (and I still won't)!!

What I objected to (I won't speak for anyone else here) was your personal and public attack on another member of this forum!!!!

You did, what you claim the very members who replied to "betta's in a cup" did......resorted to insults and inflamatory remarks to a member who disagreed with you!!!

That, my friend is poor forum etiquette as well as childish and very poor manners!!!

If you had a personal issue with MrV, then you should have used the PM system as that is what it is here for!!

If you cannot accept constructive opinions without resulting to insulting someone then perhaps it would be better to say nothing at all!!

I question why you quoted me of all people?? If anything , my reply was very generic in nature and very non-personal.

Having been in customer service based jobs (in management nontheless) for the better part of the last 20 years, I know how frustrating customers can be, but I still think your personal tirade against MrV was wrong!!

MrV....continue posting your honest opinions....and if you need it, there is a small, but growing support group here!!!

We call ourselves "The honest opinion outcasts" and we, as of late, have been meeting regularly....right CFC???

I am assuming you took offense at this part of my reply!! I can understand how you would since you probably have no clue as to what I was referring to!! If you would have taken the time to read some of the various posts that asked for "thoughts" or "opinions" you would understand.

It never ceases to amaze me how when people ask for "your thoughts" or "your opinion" and when you give it in a very constructive manner, they go ballistic on you!!!

I have had many members "disagree" with things I have stated or recommended, but do not resort to the tactics you did.

Instead a better solution is to continue to state WHY I believe something and see if I can't get them to see my point, but if I can't then so be it.

In closing , i'll simply say this........by the apparent way you closed out your last reply it seems as tho you are saying good bye to the forum.

I, for one hope this is not the case, but if it is then i'll simply say.............good luck and good fishkeeping!!!!

hoodude it is sad that you have lost your enjoyment of fishkeeping and maintainig healthy environments for your fish, maybe you should consider changing jobs perhaps some counselling cos you need time to chill out a bit.

Awww the outburst has been removed
yes and i should think so, :/
since my time back on this forum i have seen a few threads with swear words in them,
everyone is entitled to their own opinon but they would do better to keep it in pm's than on the board  this is a forum to help people not to attack them by verbal abuse :grr:

If he was American, yeah, I can see him being rude, but not as Canadian. For the record I am an American, and I acknowledge as a society, we are a rude one.

all Americans are European anyhow, that's where we originated from.

I find it interesting that no Americans took exception to this. It seems to me that there are a vast number of Americans who did not "originate" in Europe, or anywhere near it. In fact, if we want to go back to the very beginning, I believe that the continent of Africa is considered to be the cradle of humankind.

And for those Americans or Europeans who think of us as rude, here in America, I often hear that the French (in France) have the reputation for being the rudest people around.

I believe that culture plays into the rudeness question. Americans tend to be less reserved (due in part to our "pioneer" roots) and that is often perceived as rudeness by other cultures. Conversely, the stereotypical reserve of some Europeans (like the British) is perceived by many Americans as stuffiness or haughtiness (if not rudeness).

And, in America, we allow a wider berth of personal space here than many cultures do (especially the mediterranean), and an invasion of our personal space feels very much like rudeness to us.

I stand by my belief that rudeness is not determined by nationality, although customs that are perceived as rude elsewhere might be, and that courtesy (or discourtesy) is also universal and generally will be apparent, even when there are cultural differences. Diplomacy is always the best path, IMO, when dealing with a variety of cultures, as is often the case on the World Wide Web :D :D

Hoodude this is a public forum for all ages of people, this is the second time you have made an unprovoked and personal attack on a member of this forum, do it again and I'll have no hesistatation in banning you, there is no excuse for such behaviour.
