I think its red, thats what I've seen in the LFS.

And remember, I mean the Prominent color.
Not "Well, my betta is red, and it has spots of blue, and white..."
No.

Also I mean in VT's only.

Post and reason out why you picked this color.

I picked red, because thats what I usually see being sold, but maybe thats just around here :dunno:

From a genetics standpoint red and blue are both dominant, but the blue colour layer is on top of the red layer, so I guess it would be the prominent one? :dunno:

You see red and blue mainly. I think the reason you see those 2 colors most..is because they do it on purpose. They don't sell quality products (ie those "betta tanks" that hold about 2 cups of water) to keep them alive, so they have to make sure mommy or daddy can run back to the store and pick up a similar looking fish so JR won't notice it died.

I think they do it because red and blue are dominant... pretty much anything you breed together can produce one or the other, or a combo. My cambodian x copper babies ended up being mostly red and blue, remember? :p

Funny thing is, I have 3 bettas.
One almost completely red. The other almost completely blue.
Then I have a red and blue one, which has the 2 colors fade into eachother, so it looks pretty darn cool.
I think Snyirr is on the right track..

You also se it on here though.
I know I've seen a bunch of red Vt's around here...

Around here the dominant colour is multi coloured. I do see red and blue sometimes, but most of the VT's at my LFS are light pastel multi coloured bettas.

Hmm... I'd say blue. Its really a toss up between red and blue, but lately I've been seeing slightly more blues.

The three chain stores here that carry bettas have only had red ones when I've been in to look. I did find a white/multi colored one at a family-owned pet store.

Yes, but in example, you betta "Rosaline" or w/e its name is, from the pic in your sig, it would be considered red.
Even though it has other colors, it has most of red.
