Hi All,

juat need a bit of advice, i've had my tank cycling for 3 weeks now and the last couple of days i've noticed that my female platy is at the top of the tank nearly all the time near my filter, i have my air flow on all the time so think there should be enough oxygen, she's still feeding and every now and again she comes out for a swim but not very often,

my tank is 30 inch by 15 inch by 12 inch i have 3 more platy's in there 13 neon tetras and 3 lyretail molly's, can anyone help?? :/

Have you tested the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in your water?

Of so, what are the results?

yes my ammonia is fine and nitrite is down to normal, theres just a little showing of nitrate but not to much doing regular water changes

Is she a pregnant Platy?

Sometimes the last couple of days before they give birth, they can isolate themselves from other fish.

Is she gasping for breath though?

Do more water changes on a regular basis and see if it helps, the only other thing i'd suggest is its not a good idea at all to cycle a tank with neons; how many gallons does the tank hold?
