Well title says it all, I can't remember which skimmer brand had the bad reputation.

I wouldnt say they have a bad rep, they are very inefficient. If you want a skimmer that underskims then this is ideal. However if you want a good quality skimmer then look for a 2nd hand MCE600

prizms are generally considered noisy and inefficient. Oh, and overpriced. 8) Go with a V2 400

Demon, yes it is kinda of a nad choice. There are so many other skimmers out on the market that are "almost useless in some cases", most of the well known ones like Prisms and Seaclones are some to name a few.

A GOOD one though is the coralife needlewheel or venturi skimmer, reasonably priced and pretty good. THe other ones mentioned are also good.
