Practical Fishkeeper Hacked !

Sorry to bring up an old topic...

I was registered and a fairly active member of PFK, and I also use the web alot for my work (Web Designer) and so am obviously concerned about my own online security as im sure most of you are. Ive gone through and seen the list of emails/passwords/usernames (or at least thats what I presume they are), searched and have not found any of my details on the list. Seeing some of the stuff on there I can tell its obviously something fish related (the word "fish", and other similar phrases comes up alot). I am pretty pleased to find myself not on there (hell, im not complaining!) but also confused as to why im not. Does anyone know exactly where the information was taken from. Was it solely from the forum, or solely from the website, or both?

when i typed into google this morning 'coldwater fish forums' the linkw asnt there like usual which makes me wonder if its been shut down, for good.

That will be because the Googlebot will have tried to access it to update it's directory, but can't get to it because it has been taken offline for the moment. So Google takes it off it's list.

Simple explanation anyway, I will save you from my boring technical babble >_>

The point is a website not appearing on Google doesn't mean it is being shut down.

On the plus side. PFK kept everyone informed and seems to be doing everything they can to sort it out as quickly as possible - certainly better than many companies that prefer to hush things up.

The site where the list existed for a short while is gone, which is good. I would not want my details posted on the web anywhere for all of this time. At least not for anyone who wants to match my logon and password to each other. It was up far too long as it is.
