I wonder if anyone can advise me on anything i can possibly do to help my fish. My golden panchax has had a dodgy eye for about a month now, she has been herself during this period with no lack of appetite or anything. I have been treating it with melafix but this doesn't seem to have helped much but she was happy either way. Today however i see that some kind of fungus as attached itself and she is swimming at the bottom on the tank like her head is weighed down. She's one of my older fish and a favourite of mine, such a lovely temperament. If anyone has any experience of this please help.

Thank you for reading

Water stats are all normal for my tank, nitrate zero, ammonia zero, ph same as always, nitrate fine. All other fish are fine, the eye resulted as an injury as the male panchax can get a bit aggressive. They have been seperated for some time now in order to less stress for her. The tank consists of a group of panchax, two gourami and some corys. The eye is far from the bulging out stage, has now dropped considerably and the swelling looks very sore. Wish i could just remove it for her and make the inflamation go away. The tank is a 96 litre one. x

You will need a bacterial med for the swelling anti internal bacteria med by interpet or myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.

Many Thanks, will they be ok to use as i currently am treating with melafix.

hey im using both melafix and interpet anti internal bactierial med together. Melafix is, if im not mistaken just teatree oil, seems to be helping with my fishes popeye anyway. seems to be helping.

Was going more for the pimafix with the bacterial med as the fish has fungus on its eye.
Don't need the melafix with the bacterial med, it only good on cuts and wounds.

Not sure if it is fungus or just "skin" which has now blistered. It just looks very red.

She's now very poorly, upside down on the bottom of the tank and her breathing is rather laboured:( Hopefully she will pass away tonight, i can't bear to see them suffer:( She's such a lovely fish x

The filter agitates the waters surface a hell of a lot, i could put an airstone in though if you think that would put her out of some discomfort. Just wanna do as much as poss to make her feel at peace. x

I've put her in a net so she is near the surfaceof the water, i've put an airstone in aswel so i don't think there is anything more i can do. Thank you for talking to me, i do appreciate it xxxx

Sadly the iinfection to far advanced sorry the fish is dying.
