I went to my local fish shop who gave me a demonstration on how to use the gravel cleaner we have - I am a pro at it now (a few incidents of swallowing some tank water by addident, but I am pretending it didn't happen) haha!

i've done that with my turtles. not only does the water taste like rotten cat crap (yes, ive eaten that too!) it poisons you. i had to induce vomiting with my finger cause i couldnt find any ipiceac syrup!

I think that might be a bit of an over-reaction! Maybe the turtles might be carrying salmonella (lots of reptiles do), but in the normal way of things a mouthful of tank water normally stocked with healthy fish won't do much harm.

Kittencapes so glad your oroginal fish has pulled through, I have one out of my 4 danios left too.

Have you decided to stick to the one or get a bigger tank now and get more

I plan to get a bigger tank in the next few months, once Pearl grows a bit as she is still tiny. I am keeping my eye out for a bargain
