My best guess is that it’s fin biting and there is nothing you can do about it.

No amount of treatment will help.

Another update on Moon. I don’t see a ton of fin loss compared to last week. I don’t think so anyway. I haven’t moved him to his new tank because I want to make sure all the Kanaplex got to him. I have noticed him darting around the tank in a panic and at the surface. Almost as if he’s trying to jump. All of his water conditions are good. I’m hoping when I switch him over, he’ll improve.

By the looks of him now, should I do a second treatment or see how he does for a couple days when he’s in the new tank? And if you think I should do a second round, how long should I wait to do it?

I would wait a bit after adding him to the new tank.

I would add a background, a black background to be more specific. (You can also get a blue or frosted background)

Trash bags work great, as they are cheap and everyone has them. Stretch it tight, and then tape it to the back.

One more thing: I find it much easier to tape the background on the tank, when the tank is empty. So put it on before adding water/substrate/decor. Gently set the tank on its side, and use scotch (Aka masking) tape.
