i purchased a male guppy on jan 30 and i woke up on the 31 and he was in a nice sleep (DEAD) and we had such a good connection then i took a sample of water the PH was just a hair over what it should of been any ideas on what caused the death of my little fishey :dunno: -_-

no but my lfs said it does not matter but thay wanted to sell me a fish

Are you sure it was the pH that was at a slightly higher level?
I've had guppies live in a pH of up to 7.8 and never had a problem.
If it were ammonia or nitrite I could see the higher level being the cause of its death.

I also cycled with guppies once. [Stupid idea, but I was young and didn't know any better.] They all survived the cycling.
