Pond Uv Light Unit For An Aquarium

When my parents filled in their pond a couple of years ago, I took pocession of the UV light unit with the intention to sell ... but it is still sitting in my garage. Would there be any negative issues in linking the unit up in-line with my my aquarium's external filter (Fluval 404)

No, it would work fine, but it would be a little overpowered for a home tank.

UV Units are a waste of time, there's no need for them, they mask potential issues such as green algae and white spot instead of tackling the root cause.
