ok well my tanks been runing for a few months now and the usual community enhabitants.

ive decided want a change, its a 3ft

i have seen in the past tanks on here with white sand and the odd rock here and there etc but the tank i a gorgeous blue colour, i take it thats a background on the tank? or is it a special bulb?

any pics or ideas would be extremely greatfull

i dont want a full tank minimal but stuning, thinking of white sands, blue sea, bogwood, rocks or caves etc, maybe the odd plant, get the idea?

hmmn nice pics and do kinda like em but too much plants for me

what kind of layout are you thinking about?

would you like

1) mixture or plants, driftwood and rocks?
2) no live plants with just a few fake plants, driftwood and rocks?
3) just driftwood and plants?
4) just driftwood and rocks?
5) just plants and rocks?

your ideas are endless, you could ahve any number of desighns in you tank.

the blue effect can be obtained in different ways, either with a light/dark backging paper, blue bulb or a dye that you can buy..

im not realy much for the bulbs as it hurts my eyes alot, the backing paper whilst a good idea dosnt always have the desired effet.
and the dye.. well.. iv never tried that... :dunno:

not exactly 100 percent sure its a case of see a pics yes like that, that will do lol

i thought that about the backing, i remember seing one had such a beautiful blue colour like a tropical ocean

hence a couple pics from an owner would be v helpful

you dont need to request them tho, just look in the members photo section, yeah i know its alot of trawling ( i had to find my old tank shot out of my own topics and that was hard enough) but if you realy want some ideas.. you will look :)

now this is quite nice, the blue isnt as vibrant as maybe id like but looks stunning, what creates the bubbles like that???

mine is just poxy moon rock with a air hose with stone on end jammed under it lol

looks like a long airstone to me apples... bit like the little ones but long and thin ... you can get varying lengths of it from your lfs....good luck with the new look ..... pebbs :)

I just painted the back of my tank blue--the outside, of course, and am delighted with the color. I used apple barrel Outdoor Gloss cobalt blue, found in the craft section of Wal Mart. They have other colors to try out or mix for that perfect shade but vibrant certainly describes my shade. I'll take pics soon, I need to buy batteries for my camera.
