Hi,

just wondering, it is true ALL plecs require a wood suplement?

I have bog wood in my tanks that contain plecs, I have an ancistrus and a Cheatostoma Thomasi both in seprate tank. I add Sera catfish chips, to both tanks the Cheatostoma Thomasi loves them and ponces on them as if they were going to swim off, but the Ancistrus seems to ignore them? although it does spend most of the day munching on the two large(ish) pieces of bogwood in its tank.

so what the verdict, or is this a silly question?

It's not true for most plecs...
however Some Hypancistrus and most Panaques need it in their diet.

the bristlenoses will be feeding on the small algae and biofilm that forms on the bogwood
