I was wondering if anyone knew how many Plecs grow to a very maximum of 6 inches. By that I mean which plec species grow to a maximum of 6". :)

Edit: Ack, dam it, this is suppose to be in the "Catfish Cradle" area. Sorry about that. Im linking it from the catfish cradle to here for better responses.

what about gold nugget plecs? Im not sure about them, can anyone clarify? -_-

Just looked at that site, and my Pleco can grow up to 18 inches long, that could be a problem.

wow, ed946, you have a sailfin plec! They are so expensive where I am, at $150AU for one about 6 inches. How big is yours?

$150 dollars that is expensive (well i think i don't know anything about australian dollars) you can get them near me for around £2 to £10 upwards for an adult.

2-10 pounds? I just did a currency conversion check and 150 aust dollars is about 60 pounds! Oh well, they might be rare here, thats probably the reason.

Go with the Bristlenose Plec...great fish...hard worker at keeping the algae down. Mine has been in my 30 gallon for almost is a year and is about 4 inches now...not supposed to get much bigger than 5 inches.

I would get a plec that size definatly, but the ugly front barbs really unfortunatly put me off  . I want a pleco that is almost identical to a sailfin plec but doesn't grow bigger then 6".

Clown plecos are pretty fish and don't have that "ugly-cute" look. Female bristlenoses don't have the long bristles either.
