Plecos

Hello

Just a quick question do plecos fight?

Because i have 2 and they keep chasing each other around the tank.

What kind of plecs, sizes and how big is the tank.

they are about 3" common plecostomus
they are in a jewel rio 180 is the tank too small. is that why then are chasing each other

Yep, it'll be too small for them in the long run - as they grow, if they're already not getting along, they'll fight even more over territory.

To be honest, you'll need to be swapping that tank for something 4ft (minimum - preferably larger) or above just for one. They can get up to 12-18", and keeping them in there will not only be a huge clean up task, but it'll stunt their growth. Might be worth returning them and swapping them for a bristlenose or two?

Thanks mate when I went to get them at first the fish shop told me to get 2 for my tank (stupid person) the only problem is I love both of them to bits

Could it be that they are trying to mate As 1 min they are lying next to each and then the next chasing each other around the tank weird last week I moved an ornament and 1 of them shot off under the other 1 took me ages to find him.

Commons dont mate in captivity...well I think they do in massive ponds in the US, but not in our regular fish tanks. Shame, cos they're lovely fish!

I take it that they are fighting then I wish the was just playing around. I watched them last night and 1 of them was trying to get on the other back e.g chasing each other.
