:( Hello help confused.

My new tank is approx 1 month old (after a full cycle). I completed a fishless cycle and transferred all occupants of my old tank successfully. 4 discus 10+neons and 2 corys all doing fine.
My water conditions are, ammonia 0 , nitrite 0 , nitrate 0 - 5 , ph 6.5, hardness kh and gh both 5 and temp 29. All checked many times. I have tried on 2 occasions introducing a pleco both lasted 2 days and died. Algae has started growing and been feeding algae wafers and food for the other fish. The tank is planted and has bog wood. Is there anything else I can check or any other suggestions please.

Sorry to hear about the fish losses. :(

Perhaps adding a pleco might not be the answer to your algae problems. If your tank is planted, maybe the best thing to do is to help the plants outcompete the algae.

A few questions:
How big is the tank?
How many watts of light do you have over the tank currently?
How many hours per day are they on?
Is the tank ever exposed to direct sunlight?
How many plants? Are they healthy and growing?
Do you using CO2 or plant fertilizers?
