I recently put a CAE in my main tank form my smaller one as I am selling it the tank, But I was wondering how the CAE will get on with my pleco. I know plecos might get terratorial......any ideas?

More likely the aggresion will come from the CAE I'd fo though.

What type of plec is it?

How big are the two fish?

What size tank?

The plec is about 4-5 inches and is a L100 and the CAE is about 1-2 inches.

the tank is 4ft x 15inches x 18 inches.

The CAE will most likely out compete the plec for food because they have big apetites, move very fast and are very effective algae eaters- the CAE will also most likely become agressive towards the plec as it grows, especially if they are sharing the same food sources.

Ok, he is small at the moment but if starts getting aggressive I suppose I am best to move him.

My current CAE has been in my tank for almost 3 years now and is probably about 3 - 3.5 " or so. With it I have as bottom dwellers and L200, Pictus, USD cat, Kuhli Loach & 2 Botia Kubotai. All of them are hanky dory and get along fine and have been for at least 2 years (some of the other's I haven't had as long as the CAE) but at one stage I also had a 3.5" bristlenose as well as a 4" Striped Raphael Catfish. All of them were absolutely fine but I'm sure the day will come when things change.

By then I'll hopefully have a larger tank :)
