Basically, im having trouble with plants in my discus tank. so im thinking of having maybe 3 big bogwood pieces and some small amazon swords.

So if you could post pictures of your discus tanks.... i could see how it sets your discus off etc. or something that your think would look good with discus in.

i have a discus tank and gave up on plants ages ago lol.but heres my tank,its only a short term tank as im moving house soon and plan on another tank.

plants have taken off since then... removed java fern and replaced with crypts... i'd take a pic but friend still has my camera

i got a layout for a 75 they're going in if that helps...

Thnks im aving trouble with plants and just didnt no wot to do...but i thinki may get more bogwood and less plants or summin

i'm not a huge fan of stem plants so here we go....
(they come up with discus chasing... they shed... they hate high temps... on and on)

these seem to take the high temps of a discus tank... which i assume you have

(heavy root feeders.. use fert tabs)
longer stemmed amazon's in the back
shorter compact swords in the middle
crypt species to cover the stems of the swords
microswords in the foreground as a carpet

anubias here and there

also that bunched "lucky bamboo" looks pretty cool in a tank

driftwood can also be used to create different heights of substrate in a tank which look neat

sorry i didn't list names and stuff.... kinda weak on plant names lol fish come first

Hi there!

I'm new to the forum but here's my discus tank.

120gal, large gravel over fine substrate. This pic was taken about 3 months ago, need to get camera fixed so more pics soon (fingers crossed)

Thanks ive had the touch of inspiration added a couple of plants and moved a few plants and bogwood etc. getting to how i want it, just going to let nature take its course and hopefully my plants will be nice and high

Not huge discus in here at the moment but heres mine.
Just basic things like Cabomba Carolina, Vallisneria Spiralis, Hygrophillia polysperma, Hairgrass, Indian Fern and Echinodorus something
