I changed my beta's tank this afternoon. About an hour later I noticed he wasn't swimming so much as letting himself be carried along the current. This is when I remembered (like an idiot) I forgot to put in the water safe agent. I ran to the pet store and put the water softner in, but slowly I started to notice his color change from a vibrant blue/green to a pale bleached color and now it's settled on a darker almost navy blue color around the edges of his fins and his eyes turned cloudy. I warmed up his water, thinking it may have been too cold and he's started moving around a bit more now and his eyes are back to normal. Still, I can't help but be concerned. Did I bleach him, burn him, or freeze him? Will he be ok, and is there anything I can do to make sure he pulls through? I'm a bit frantic at the moment...

eek! you probably know what chlorine can do to hair.. turn it green!
i dont really know what effect it will have on a betta :(

if you've added the stuff there really isnt much you can do.

do you still have your old tank + water? if so, you could put him back in his old house, where hes a bit more comfortable.

bettas dont really like a current, i guess its the filter causing it? what sort of filter do you have?

I'm not entirely sure what kind of filter. Since i posted this, he seems to be getting worse. He's hanging in his rocks nose down. His colors returning, but his eye became cloudy again and he seems to be gasping. I'm fairly scared right now....

 have you not got another tank with a fish in.? I have done this once and so I took some water from another tank for the time being and put him in a small container. Doesnt sound too good sorry! Fingers crossed.
