I have posted several things only to get no response. We will see how open this forum is.... I thought this was a great comunity until I needed advice. I went almost 2 days and even the mods didn't respond though most of them read the posts. I don't know what happened but I have moved to a new place that is closer to home.



I needed your help and only Bradley responded and he is a newbie here so that tells me something!!!!!

im a little confused... i remember specifially you asking about Avatars (cause i had a few Q: myself) and you got replies on that.... and also you recieved replies about the automatic feeder jobbie....

Im new here and sometimes responses are slow... but the first fish forum I joined still hasnt responed to something I wrote and I signed up there before I even found this.

I may be a miss on this one.. but I dont believe mods have a duty to respond.... it is nice, but they have many other tasks... like viewing posts and making sure the content is suitable for everyone (like me trying to get my flash avatar loaded ). Im sure this takes alot of time, not to mention running a server to even have this page.

And the bigest yet.. If we didnt have the mods... we wouldnt have a place to even post our questions..

Im sorry your not getting the responses you would like, I wish I was more knowledgable on the subject, i would try to help you out.... but.. Im in school learning about Web Development.. lol not fishies (hence, my reason for belonging to this site)

I hope I have used my brain as you have told us to and not insulted you, ive just tried to edjucate you, and tried to get accros that posts take time, and if it is an emergency you could try to send a message to a mod or email a knowledgable member.

sometimes a new post gets shunted down the pages due to newer posts as they are filed chronologically and therefore could me missed. Just reply to it yourself to push it back up the page.

Also patience is needed, most of us, are busy people with work, home and school as well.

Brink, Moderators are only responsible for the CONTENT of our forums. Yet ALL of us feel the obligation to try to answer all the posts. Many of us Mods were here when this forum had under 100 people in it. It was easy to look through all the posts of the day. Now, it is difficult to keep up with our own forum content at times.

We strive to be helpful. If you have a topic that is a real emergency or puzzle to you, feel free to PM me or one of the other mods to get our attention. The best way to do this is to post your topic in the correct forum, then give one or two of us a PM directing us towards it. We are here to help... B)

have not been able to get on that much lately since i have been working two jobs and one is bartending until close. also felt like i was being a posting hog and thought that i would let some of the other members have a chance to answer some of the posts. but have not noticed any posts with 0 responses.

hope you have a change of heart and decide to give us another chance.

Theres no need to throw the toys Mr Bink,

As TAA says theres alot of members and topics going up all the time and unless you spend alot of hours on here every day you are unlikly to be up on every thread.

Personally I try and stick to the active topics when I get a chance to get on (and scan for zero replies) and if that hasn't been for a couple of days then there can be pages of them

If you (or anyone else for that matter) has a topic that seems to have been neglected or missed please don't take it personally - this is becoming a very busy and popular forum so things can get overlooked. As GL says send a Mod a PM or reply to it yourself to get it bumped back up the active topics.

First I do apologize for any delay in you getting a response to your questions.

Next,

Every member here has to realize one thing....the mods here do this job...not for money, but for the love of the hobby!!!!!!!

I, for one, simply relish the fact that I may have been able to help someone in some way and require nothing further.

Many times I spend countless hours looking for info to a question only to post it and see it go unanswered or the member does not come back on for a long time!!

I work 50 hours a week at my fulltime job, maintain a side business importing and selling fish that consumes another 40 or so hours and spend countless hours here.

I am a little perplexed that you would consider leaving this forum simply because a post did not get an immediate response!!

I do hope you reconsider, but if not it was a pleasure having you here, even for a short time.

I also wish you luck in your forum journies and hope you can find a site that works for you.

Being one of the more experienced members here, I sometimes get overwhelmed at the amount of questions there are to answer.

To be totally honest with you, sometimes I like to just come on the board and read the posts without feeling I have to answer them. I am sorry if this is not understood, but the bottom line is...I am still a member as well as being a moderator!!

We also have some new members who have taken a big jump in answering posts and I feel it only right that they be given every opportunity to answer them. This is the only way a board can grow and help it's members grow and feel useful.

I have also had questions unanswered but i understand that sometimes others either can't aswer a question or don't feel they have a valid point to make,take a chill pill and calm down fish keeping is meant to be relaxing

bink you should reconsider. It will be your loss if you leave this board. we will still miss you but I have never seen a forum that even comes close to this one. I have learned a tremendous amount here. I have sometimes respomded to my own posts to drive then to the top. sometimes vyou have to do it. give the mods a break. just look at the amount of posts that they put up in thier spare time.what was your question by the way. just chill. It should be apparent by the quality of responses to your angry post the charecter of he mods and thier integrity to these forums. you are obviously dealing with an excellent gruop of people. most other forums would teel you get lost and good ridance but you got nothing of that nature here. So I hope you take a chill pill or anger management. JK!!! Better luck in the future. Why dont you photograph your tank and post it that always makes me feel better and it fun. Take care!

What I do when I have a fish emergency is post my question.......and then instead of sitting and waiting for someone to reply....I try to educate myself....do a search in the old topics to see if this question has already been address at an earlier date, and if I can't find anything there.......I start searching the internet for answers.....
Just a suggestion, and it works for me.


In my opinion......it amazes me how much time the mods spend answering all these difficult questions, most of the time in great detail..............I can truely see they care here......I think they all deserve a big thumbs up.

I am sorry for my outburst. I do understand the mods are busy and you all have been wonderful to me. I had no right to act like that and yes sgt I do need some anger meds or something sometimes.
I used to run a league online and gave it up because of all the griping and hurtful things people said and did to each other. SO...I really, maybe more than most, should have known better.

I won't give excuses as I don't think it matters why I acted the way I did. It only matters that I wont do it again. No one came to me even in an IM in anyway other than helpful.

I would like to have this post removed soon as I really don't like showing my idiocy, but I think you ALL deserve the appology.

Again, I am sorry for my outburst and feel childish for it. YOu all have been very helpful and I receive responses in this forum on a regular basis.
