Platys In Planted Tanks

Have never kept platys before but was going to get some soon until I read:

can anyone provide me with some plants that my annoying little platys wont much until it dies. I've found that plants with very thick leaves are better and they don't have a go at these. Only found two of these so far though. They've destroyed everything else - the rascals.

Are platys not a good idea in a planted tank? Or are these just particularly greedy platys?

I've never had an issue with them in Planted tanks, but some people do. It must depend on the individual fish. I'd imagine they destroy the plants by trying to eat the little organisms off them, so I'd make sure you feed enough.
