Hi,
I have live & plastic plants in my 145lt (Australia) tank and am wondering if it is ok to have a fine mist air stone running.
I have 3F mollies (2babies make 5) 1m, 3f platy's, pair dwarf gouramis, 2 corys, 3 bristlenose and 2 silver sharks. Can any one see a problem with these inhabitants?
All seems ok, although one of the platy's is continually at top of tank and doesn't seem to be eating. I also have some babie platy's in tank.
Thank you.

the airstone should be fine. :good: nothing wrong with a bit of extra aeration. the only problem i see with the stocking of your tank is that the corys prefer to be in small groups of at least 3, and the silver sharks are going to outgrow your tank pretty soon. silver (also know as bala) sharks can grow up to 14'/35cm!

Thank you for your quick response, had read about the corys so will get more might have to get rid of the sharks.
thanks again.

Although the sharks CAN get that big, it's doubtful they will in even the best conditions over many years.

of course, having said that the silver sharks will still get to a large size (much bigger than his 125l tank) and that's going to create some problems in the near future. :good:
