Planted Betta Tank

Red plants tend to be more demanding that other plants in my experience. (of course, this is a general statement). May need more / better light, but of course as soon as you do that you'll be opening up a whole can of worms...

very true this is down to the lack of chlorophyll in the leaves which makes it harder for them to photo synthesize so they need intense light 2WPG

but the WPG rule doesnt apply to tanks of this size, it tkaes judgment

cheers for all the advice people

I shall see how the red plant fares, i also have a planted bogwood which is recovering from being in the other tank with the gibbicep, not seen it recovering much tho,

The anacharis which is the plant on the front left with the green leaves, grows very rapidly and should be planted with 1" area from the nearest plant. It will also grow floating, and can develop beautiful white flowers if you treat it right :).

Thanks for that, i believe i have some in an outdoor pond which grows like wildfire lol, but didn't want to risk anything contaminating my tank so bought some from the LFS

Hi Andrew, great looking tank! :good: I have the same one (asked about cories and/or a ottos on another thread), just wondering, are you using the standard lid and filter?

Ref the blog Andeekaii - most stuff on there is good :good: Only one thing, the description on the halfmoon. On the blog it says that the spread of the caudal fin extends past 180 degrees. That would make it an OHM (over halfmoon). A HM has a 180 degree spread and no more :good:
