Ive had it before, just make sure you can keep up with the increase in demand for CO2 etc.
Out of curiosity...why do you need more light?

Growth is slower than I would like and my carpet is not forming all that well... 2WPG isn't much, and I want to buy loads of new plants (which need better light)...

Which tank has the 2WPG? If it's the larger of the two, try filling up the water above the black rim. Light bounces around and then escapes through that big gap you've got there. Filling it will encourage the light to penetrate down, which is where it needs to be. Perhaps that may just be the edge you need. It may mean doing a slight top-off in between regular maintenance, which is not so bad.

Otherwise, those are some pretty lush tanks there, Corin Castle. I'd be pleased.
