Pk Betta

Not totally up to all the different terms nowadays. What exactly is a PK? Whats the pros and cons? I know all the local Petsmarts, PetCos, and Wally Worlds are over-loaded with what are supposed to be females but it seems turn out males. I bought 5 really well colored supposedly females but when introduced into a 10 gal,, all hell broke loose. So I B befuddled.

I guess what I am trying to find out is: Reading some of the posts, it seems like people consider them more or less trash bettas. Not worth breeding. Almost like they're rejects. But yours and some I have are really good looking fish. But still aggrevates me that they are being dumped as females.

alot of people prefer types like Hm and so on, i think its down to preference in all honesty

Taj is indeed a beautiful betta. Now I have the bigger picture. Thanx for all the help. Now what to do with all these apparent PK males.

Another bonus is that they don't seem to have as many problems with their fins and the long ones.

I love HMPK's and normal PK's awww heck i love them all.

They are far from Trash, its just some colours are less desirable than others. Golds and Blacks seem to be quite popular as well as patels and Marbles. Wild type colour is slowly fading out as you now get so many as females in the LFS's.

They have lots of plus sides, Netty mentioning the main one. The only con is that they can be abit more agressive than the longer finned splendens.
