Hybrids of swordtails and platies as well as hybrids of altum angels and 'regular' angels look exactly like you would expect... a blend of the two species. Altums look a lot like regular angels so the outcome is just... well... an angel, and the platy-swordtail combo leaves you with what looks like a swordtail with a shorter sword.

yea, i tryed to find you pics of these hybrids the other day, but aside from the guppy/molly hybrid, all the others you listed would just look regular, a sword/platty would look like a small sword, an angle/autm would just look like and angle, and a carp/koi would look like a carp. the 2 pair of fish u listed are too closely related to be crossed and produce anything real spectacular.

That Muppy is so call that i'm gonna set up a 10 gallon and try that?

I meant I was gonna set up a tank with 1 male guppy and 2 female mollies and try to get Muppies. But is there any special way to induce spawing between them?

When I did a search on Google this pic came up as 'Molly', I can't find any pics when I search for guppy/molly hybrids. :dunno:

Sometimes when platys and swordtails are crossed they can look like platys but have a distinct line like a sword does, (they often also move like a sword does too, in short bursts), others can look like swords but are deeper bodied with a shorter sword. It just depends.

I believe you are right Ddraig Goch, it's probably a kind of Short-finned Molly (Poecilia Sphenops) not a Molly/Guppy hybrid. But it's a good idea of what Molly/Guppy hybrids may turn out like. :)

Here's another Poecilia Sphenops I found while browsing a while back:

Common name for what? Poecilia Sphenops? Some are named by their color, like 24 Carat Mollies, or Dalmation Mollies and they are also sometimes called Short-finned Mollies, Wild Mollies, Fancy Mollies...it all depends on the store. Some just call them Mollies. :dunno:

Just wish I could get my hands on some of those beautiful fish, oh well, i'm getting two lovleyy Male bettas from Synirr, look at sig.

keep this in mind when u make "muppies", they will not live long (if at all), you can not give them to a lfs (and if u do, your very irresposible, you can really ruin a whole breed of fish if somone ever trys to breed these with guppys or mollys). i do have to admit, they are very cool fish, if u can pull it off and starte a community of them then great, id love to see pics, just please dont give them to a lfs :)
