Pitbull Plecs - Hair Green Algae

Well my tank has way too much green hair type algae at the moment, would a small group of pitbull plecs sort it out? It's on a number of surfaces, plants and the glass. I've adjusted the light cycle to 8hrs/ day so that should help. Does anyone know what types of algae exactly that pitbulls eat??

I have 3 otos in there at the moment and they eat brown algae, dont touch the fast increasing hairy green stuff

we have 6 in our 120L tank... and we have hair algea... but they are well fed.
