Pistol Shrimp

I'm been surfing the net for some good info on these guys but hte only site I could find was the Dr. Foster one. Could any1 post some good info for me or atleast point me in the right direction?

What exactly are you looking for? What types there are? pistol goby combos?

The most common around my area locally are tiger pistols. If you point me in a dirrection I may be able to help you find the info.

I wanted to do the pistol shrimp/watchman goby combo.

EDIT: One of the websites I read said that the pistol shrimp is capable of breaking glass from 1.8 meters away... That doesn't seem correct to me, not only because it seems highly unrealistic, but also because people would be breaking aquariums left and right with them. Feedback?

I'm no expert but that sounds highly unlikely...unless it actually does carry a pistol?

Haha, as funny as that would be to see, I wouldn't want to ever come face to face with a shrimp carrying a pistol.

I know I remember seeing a list before on this site, have you tried doing a search? I can't remember specifics but I'll try and find it, I just saw it a couple months ago.

Its not what I was thinking of, but here is some info on gobies that pair up. From what I have gathered its alot like anenomes and clown fish, depending on the personality of the two animals they may or may not pair up.

I recently spoke to my local reef specialist about this and his advice was always to buy them as a pair. In their experience they have found that a pair can be split for a few days and will re-bond when put back in the same tank but have found it very difficult to get a goby and shrimp to bond from scratch. It seems they are monogamous for want of a better word.
