don't know much about them, but i'd say save the rest of the fish quick before they are food

i should of said that, all other fish have been removed from the tank apart from my large silver dollars, pictus, and 2 bristlenose cat fish.

they have been having bloodworm as its all i currently have that they will take, have cichlid pellets but they dont want to know.

in the spring was going to get them some earthworms too, as ive read they like them.

high protien foods... shrimp prawn whitebait etc are fav, they will take dry eventually.

size 12-14", & serious predators, once grown anything less than 3-4" is on the menu.

I have an adult female that is only now under control, in a tank with adult rays, a 20" aro & adult severum, uaru etc...

cheers for the info

so what makes a good tank mate for these or nothing really?

Jim

anything big enough not to get eaten or killed... so fairly robust.

okthanks for that and a good tank size for 2 adults?

dont know she killed 2 males in a 4x18x18 & I have not managed to find a large enough replacement... I would guess 4x2x2, but may need to be in a group if so then 5x2x2 minimum.

Pikes are a great fish and in my experience very big feeders so you shouldn't have any problems once they are settled. they grow very rapidly as well but fantastic fish

they are a big commitment though cos they attain a good size and in my opinion are not very good with tank mates even ones that are much bigger. great fish but very aggressive as well

good luck with yours and keep us updated with the pics cos theyget so much better as they get older

thanks for the info ill make sure i keep the topic updated

will they be ok together? the slightly bigger one is giving the other a hard time but i think its just a settling in thing working out who's boss, going to move my pictus to my comunity tank as i done want him becoming dinner for them, plus i have upped there food intake and both are looking better and stronger.
